Waterlooville AFC is delighted to announce the appointment of Lisa Gale as First Team Manager ahead of the upcoming season, marking another important step forward in the continued rebirth and development of the football club.

Lisa joins Waterlooville AFC with a strong background in football coaching, player development and team management, bringing years of experience within grassroots and youth football.

Her journey into football coaching began in 2015 when she stepped forward to help manage her son’s team at Lee Rangers. What initially started with supporting local grassroots football quickly developed into a long-term commitment to coaching and player development.

Over the following years, Lisa continued to expand both her knowledge and qualifications, successfully completing her UEFA C Licence as well as a referee qualification in 2018.

In the same year, Lisa established a youth side at Gosport Borough, beginning a highly successful and rewarding period within youth football. Under her leadership and guidance, the team rapidly progressed through the divisions and within just two years had reached the highly competitive Mid Solent Youth League A Division.

Throughout their journey, Lisa’s side consistently competed towards the top end of the table, building a strong reputation for organisation, player development and commitment. During this period, the team achieved notable success, including winning the the league cup 3 years in succession, the Challenge Cup in 2024 and securing the A League title during their final Under-18 campaign.

One of the standout achievements from Lisa’s time managing was seeing a number of players progress into higher levels of football, reflecting the strong development environment and coaching structure she helped create throughout her time with the club.

More recently, Lisa spent parts of the 2024/25 and 2025/26 seasons assisting Shaun Gale at Infinity FC, gaining valuable experience within senior football and further developing her understanding of team management and football operations at adult level.

Lisa now joins Waterlooville AFC during the resurrection of the club, with significant progress continuing to take place both on and off the pitch. The club continues to grow across multiple areas, including the First Team setup, youth football, community engagement and wider club development.

As part of her plans moving forward, Lisa will be bringing in a first team coach to further strengthen the management team and help support the continued development of the squad throughout the season ahead.

Her appointment represents another positive addition to the football structure being built at Waterlooville AFC as the club continues working towards creating a strong, organised and sustainable future.

Speaking following her appointment, Lisa Gale said:

I’m really excited to be joining Waterlooville AFC at such an important time for the club.
Football has been a huge part of my life for many years and I’m looking forward to developing a strong team environment where players can grow, improve and enjoy their football.
I’m excited for this new challenge and I believe we can build something really positive over the coming seasons.

Everyone at Waterlooville AFC would like to warmly welcome Lisa to the club and we look forward to an exciting future together.
